Jerry Olson, Class of 1955

Hamden Hamden Country Day School is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of alumnus Jerry Olson, Class of 1955, on March 27, 2019. Jerry was a good friend to our school, and we enjoyed his beautiful smile and sense of humor at our reunions and special events. In 2013, Jerry joined his twin sister and fellow 1955 alumna, Joyce Olson Resnikoff, at the dedication of the Olson Family Gazebo. This structure serves as a lively gathering spot for our students and faculty in our courtyard‚ often the location where small classes are held. At the dedication, we remembered yet another Olson alumna, Sylvia Olson Michaels, Hamden Hall Class of 1950 and sister to Joyce and Jerry, who predeceased Jerry.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Joyce who remains a special friend to our school. Hamden Hall was pleased to honor Joyce with an Alumni Achievement Award in 2016 where Jerry was part of the celebration—proud of his sister and also his professional partner, as the twins founded Olde Mistick Village, a leading tourism destination in Connecticut where Joyce continues to work and serves as CEO.
Again, we extend our condolences toJoyce. We'll miss you, Jerry.
