Jodi Amatulli
Congratulations to alumnus Len Fasano, Class of 1977, who was honored along with Hamden Hall senior Billy Porto (soon to be alumnus Class of 2019!) at the 59th anniversary of the Casey-O'Brien chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete awards on March 29. Len was presented the Distinguished American Award. He has served as a state senator in Connecticut since 2003. Billy was recognized for his prowess on the gridiron and in the classroom. Len, by the way, received the same award during his senior year at Hamden Hall. Len, pictured second from left, is a former Hamden Hall trustee. He and his wife Jill are past parents of three alumni children, Kristen Sharpe, Class of 2006, Rob, Class of 2009, and Karla, Class of 2012. Billy is joined by his grandparents, Carl Porto Sr., a Hamden Hall trustee, and Terry Porto, who retired as a first-grade teacher in 2016 after 31 years of service. In the second photo: Billy is with his Hamden Hall alumni parents, Carl Porto II, Class of 1986, and Kimberly Gold Porto, Class of 1987, and Joe Linta, our Hornet's football coach. Missing from photo: Billy's brother, Carl Porto III, Class of 2016. Congratulations to Len and Billy and their families—also members of our Hamden Hall family!
