Hamden Hall Hosts Science Author Sam Kean

Hamden Hall Country Day School, in conjunction with the New Haven American Chemical Society and R.J. Julia Booksellers, hosts New York Times-bestselling author Sam Kean, who will speak about all things science including the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table.

The speaking engagement takes place in Hamden Hall’s Taylor Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. Following the presentation, Kean will sign books and refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend this complimentary event.

As a child, Kean says he spent years collecting mercury from broken thermometers. As an adult, Kean has written five books including his latest, The Bastard Brigade. Kean’s stories have also appeared in The Best American Science and Nature Writing, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine, Slate, and Psychology Today.
