  • Faculty Retirement Planning Workshop

Swain Library - Main Library - Library
We are pleased to announce that Hamden Hall Country Day School will be offering a Retirement Planning Workshop for employees, to be held on 3 consecutive Wednesday afternoons in November (11/6, 11/13 and 11/20) from 3:30-5:30 pm. This workshop is a good opportunity to help you plan for a successful retirement. Participants will receive a comprehensive retirement planning workbook and light refreshments will be served.

Although retirement may seem years away, it’s never too early to begin planning. This workshop will help you answer questions such as:
-Am I on track to afford to retire?
-When is the best time to take Social Security?
-How do I decide among my retirement plan’s payout options?
-Do I have my necessary estate planning documents?
-How does Medicare work and how to shop for insurance to supplement Medicare?
-How do I make sure my purchasing power lasts throughout retirement?
-How best should I pay income taxes in retirement?
-How can I use my home equity to increase retirement income?
-What key questions should I ask if I’m considering relocation?
-What are "annuities" and how might they fit into my plans?
-How can I develop an investment plan before and during retirement?

David K. Carboni, Ph.D., CFP®, an authority in the field of retirement planning, will lead the workshop. Dr. Carboni has delivered thousands of retirement planning programs nationwide, including workshops for Thayer Academy, Greenwich Country Day School, Trinity Pawling, Northfield Mount Hermon, Boston College, Yale University, and Williams College, among scores of others. Unlike workshops offered by financial service providers, this program is strictly educational, as Dr. Carboni does not sell financial products or services.  To read more about Dr. Carboni, please visit:

You do not have to be “on the verge of retiring” to benefit from this program.

Enrollment is limited to 35 participants. In order to manage the number of participants, invitations are being sent out by age band (i.e., individuals born prior to a certain date) and registration will be on a “first come, first served” basis, so don’t delay

To register, you must sign up via the Retirement Planning Workshop Sheet by October 4th.

Please be aware that by signing up, you agree to attend all three sessions.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
