Class of 1982 alumnus Herb Emanuelson returned to Hamden Hall as the new Director of Alumni Relations. Herb has always been a proud Hornet: playing in the annual Golf Tournament, planning reunions for his 1982 classmates, and staying connected with his “brothers from ‘82.” So, it feels like a perfect fit that Herb joined the Advancement and Communications Team to help all alumni stay connected with Hamden Hall.
Back in school, Herb was on the wrestling and golf teams and in every theatre production. Since graduating from Hamden Hall, he earned a B.A. in English from Trinity College and an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of New Haven. Over the years, he worked in the fields of sales, marketing, advertising, and public relations for banks and advertising agencies, as well as an insurance carrier, rock radio station, and Tony Award-winning theater. Herb’s love of theatre, which started at Hamden Hall with his teacher Helen Sheehy, continues with his volunteer work for the Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival.
“Life is a journey,” Herb reflected about returning to Hamden Hall. “It's such a joy to be back on campus, and I’m excited to help to make a difference for the school that I’ve always carried such strong memories. I’ve been learning how Hamden Hall has expanded over the years, but what hasn't changed are the relationships with our students, staff, and faculty. I've been touring the campus and visiting classrooms, and the same feelings of friendship, support, respect, and joy are everywhere.”
If you need help planning your reunion, promoting professional successes or landmark personal occasions, networking with alumni, or touring the campus, be sure to reach out to Herb at hemanuelson@hamdenhall.org.
“We depend on our alumni’s generosity to ensure that today's students benefit from the same wonderful experiences as we all did back during our days at Hamden Hall,” noted Herb.”
