  • Policy

Hamden Hall offers need-based financial aid. To determine need, Hamden Hall uses the criteria set forth by the School and Student Service (SSS) for Financial Aid by NAIS. The report of financial need computed by SSS is recalculated by the Director of Financial Aid applying certain Hamden Hall aid policies. These calculations are presented to the Financial Aid Committee, which then makes the financial determination for every application. Over 20% of the student body receives some form of financial assistance. Awards are granted on an annual basis and families must reapply each year.
  • Application Process

In order to apply for financial aid, the parents of a student must complete and submit a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS).  This can be done on the SSS website starting on November 1st and must be completed by January 15th to be considered for aid.  Parents must also submit to the school a copy of their federal income tax form (Form 1040) from both 2018 and 2019 (once filed), including all supporting schedules. Hamden Hall reserves the right to request verification of income tax information from the IRS.  A family who does not apply for financial aid during the admissions process will not be eligible for aid for the year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

We require that both natural parents contribute to the cost of education to the extent of their ability. The non-custodial parent must also complete a PFS with SSS and submit to the School a copy of his/her federal income tax form (Form 1040), including all supporting schedules. Hamden Hall reserves the right to request verification of tax information from the IRS.
