  • Policy

    Hamden Hall offers need-based financial aid. To determine need, Hamden Hall uses the criteria set forth by the School and Student Service (SSS) for Financial Aid by NAIS. The report of financial need computed by SSS is recalculated by the Director of Financial Aid applying certain Hamden Hall aid policies. These calculations are presented to the Financial Aid Committee, which then makes the financial determination for every application. Over 20% of the student body receives some form of financial assistance. Awards are granted on an annual basis and families must reapply each year. 
  • Application Process

    Financial Aid applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, along with admissions applications, at this time.  In order to apply for financial assistance, the parents of a student must complete and submit a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on the SSS website.    Parents must also submit to the school a copy of their federal income tax form (Form 1040) from both 2019 and 2020 (once filed), including all supporting schedules. Hamden Hall reserves the right to request verification of income tax information from the IRS.  A family who does not apply for financial aid during the admissions process will not be eligible for aid for the year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

  • Financial Aid For Divorced And Separated Families

    We require that both natural parents contribute to the cost of education to the extent of their ability. The non-custodial parent must also complete a PFS with SSS and submit to the School a copy of his/her federal income tax form (Form 1040), including all supporting schedules. Hamden Hall reserves the right to request verification of tax information from the IRS.
