Hamden Hall’s Summer Academy welcomes students from all schools to be part of our summer learning community! We offer a wide variety of courses that will enrich students of all ages.
Students who attend Summer Academy will be taught by an outstanding and enthusiastic faculty. The course offerings range from enrichment classes, to introductory courses, to courses for credit. We keep our class size small to enable students to get the personal attention they deserve. Mix it up and have your child try our Adventures and Academic program, where students visit museums, explore Connecticut state parks, and swim at our Beckerman Athletic Center. Summer Academy 2016 will run from June 27th to August 5th. Classes run in one, three, or six week sessions depending on the course.
For students entering grades K-6 we offer our Adventures and Academics program. Students enrolled in Adventure and Academics participate in a full day of activities starting with academic classes in the morning and adventures in the afternoon. Students engage in swimming at the Beckerman Athletic Center, with craft projects and team building games three days a week. On the other days students explore local museums and take nature hikes at state parks.
Please note, Adventures and Academics is a separate program from the Hamden Hall Summer Camp.
HAMDEN HALL SUMMER ACADEMY WILL BE CLOSED Monday, July 4th.
|Summer Academy offers a variety of one to six week courses for students in grades PreK-12. This allows each student the opportunity to schedule a variety of activities during the summer months and still have time to spend with their family on vacation. Course descriptions include times, dates, grade levels, and tuition cost per section. Course grade levels are for the grade that your child will be entering in the fall. For updates on course availability, or to discover new offerings which have been added to our catalog, please visit our website at www.hamdenhall.org/summeracademy.|
Adventures and Academics
For students entering grades K-6 we offer our Adventures and Academics program. Students enrolled in Adventure and Academics participate in a full day of activities starting with academic classes in the morning and adventures in the afternoon. Students engage in swimming at the Beckerman Athletic Center, craft projects, outdoor activities, and team building games during the afternoons. Other activities include exploring local museums and taking nature hikes at state parks.
Any student who wishes to receive credit for a summer academy course should contact the summer academy office and request that a transcript be sent to his/her school. Please be aware that the decision to award credit is made by the school which the student attends during the regular school year. *Eligible Hamden Hall students may also take selected courses for credit. Successful completion of a credit course allows a Hamden Hall student to advance to the next level of the course in September. It does not reduce the number of courses to be taken that year.
* Departmental permission required prior to registration.
