State Approves New Fundraising Opportunity

The Connecticut State Department of Revenue Services (DRS) recently adopted new gaming regulations.

Hamden Hall Country Day School is pleased to be one of the first organizations to participate under the new policy by offering a $50,000 Tuition Raffle. 

The new state regulations open this type of raffle to prize recipients of all ages.

This will be especially important to families of high school seniors now facing the increasing costs of college tuition and books.  

The new DRS rules allow groups to conduct a raffle whereby the winner can use the proceeds to pay for tuition for one or more individuals. 

Under this program, the prize may be used for any accredited independent K-12 schools, colleges or universities in the United States . 

It can be managed immediately or some time later, as long as recipients are named within four years of the award. 

Another DRS regulation states that once the recipient begins drawing on the award, the funds must be used within four years. 

Considering the rising costs of tuition, that will not be hard to do! 

Participants need not be associated with the organization hosting this type of Tuition Raffle, so this opportunity is open to everyone.
