Summer Programs

Summer Camp

Our Summer Sports Camps strive to develop the whole athlete in your child. With our diverse offerings, campers improve their skill level and develop the confidence needed to attain a high level of success.  With our variety of offerings, your child has the unique opportunity to participate in other sports activities and, by doing so, promote better physical development as a result of this exposure. Whether you choose one sport or more than one, your child will receive instruction from qualified coaches with years of experience working with children.

All of our Sports Camps, unless otherwise noted, are in session from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camps utilize the fields and athletic facilities at our Skiff Street Athletic Complex.  This includes our heated pool at the Beckerman Athletic Center.  For full day Sports Camps, campers should bring their own snack, lunch, water, bathing suit, and towel.  Also, please check the camp descriptions listed below to make sure that your child is properly equipped for that particular camp.  For outdoor sports in which cleats are used, campers should also bring a pair of sneakers to be used for indoor activities during periods of inclement weather.


Sports Camp Discount:  If you register two or more siblings for the same Sports Camp, the first pays full price and the others pay half price.

Sports Camps
WACKY WORLD OF SPORTS AND GAMES          June 15-19   $260         

Our Multi Sports Camp is designed for girls and boys ages 7 to 14.  Join us for a week long journey that is only limited by your imagination.  Do you have to be a star athlete to compete and have fun in this camp?  Absolutely not - but you will feel like a star when your week is over.  You will be enriched and thrilled by an assortment of sports activities and games that include, but are not limited to, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, street hockey, softball, lacrosse, handball, volleyball, tennis and many more.  The program is under the direction of Hamden Hall physical education teacher Mark McEachern.     

BASEBALL CAMP          June 23-26;   $295                                  

Our Baseball Camp, for boys ages 8-14, places emphasis on learning the fundamentals of baseball including proper batting, throwing and fielding skills and most importantly enjoying the game of baseball. Each player must provide their own glove.  The program is under the direction of Joe Fontana, Sports Camp Director and Varsity Baseball coach at Hamden Hall.
 
HORNETS HOOP CLINIC            July 6-10;   $250     

Hornet's Hoop Clinic, for girls and boys ages 7-14, is under the direction of Megan Borelli and Jay Karlins, the Girls' and Boys' Varsity Basketball coaches at Hamden Hall.  This program develops the basic skills and techniques that are needed by the individual player to improve and find success at the next level.  The focus of the clinic will be on teaching both team and individual scenarios that will make you a better player and teammate.  We look forward to you joining us in this unique and personal basketball experience.  

FIELD HOCKEY CLINIC          June 29-July 2;    $250
     
               
The Field Hockey Clinic is under the direction of Kristen Murphy, former player at Union College.  For someone new to the sport, you are in good hands as you learn the fundamentals of this fascinating game played around the world.  If you are an experienced field hockey player, this clinic will provide you with the opportunity to reach new levels of proficiency.  Either way, you will stick with this sport once you experience it!  Campers should bring their own stick, molded mouth guard, water bottle, and eye shield.   

TENNIS CAMP          June 22-26:   $295          June 29-July 2;   $250

Our Tennis Camp, for girls and boys ages 7-14, will emphasize sound skill development for the beginner to the experienced tennis player. Players will have the opportunity to learn and improve their game within a fun environment. Each player will provide his/her own racket.  

VICTORY SOCCER CAMP         July 6-10;   July 27-31;   Full Day; $200   AM Session; $155   (Friday session - 9 a.m to Noon for Full Day camp)

Victory Soccer School, for girls and boys ages 6-12, emphasizes the development of each player’s technique in the areas of dribbling, passing and receiving, heading, tackling, and shooting. These skill areas are then incorporated into the basic tactics that form the foundation of the world’s greatest game. Futsol, the fastest growing indoor game in the world, will also be incorporated as part of our camp experience.  Each player must provide his/her own cleats or training shoes, shin guards, soccer ball, water bottle, lunch, snack, swim suit, and towel. The cost is $200 for the full day session and $155 for morning session only. These weeks of soccer will be conducted by David Dikranian, Director of Victory Soccer Camps.

ADVANCED VICTORY SOCCER SCHOOL   August 3-7;   Full Day; $250    AM Session; $175   (Friday session - 9 a.m. to Noon for Full Day camp)
                                                                                                       
Advanced Victory Soccer School, for girls and boys ages 10-16, wants you to step-up your game!  The soccer school delivers advanced training for players that want to improve their skills and prepare themselves for the elite level of competition.  You will be instructed by an experienced, professional staff of Victory soccer coaches that will offer technical and tactical training; along with fitness, agility and speed training.  Training sessions for goalkeepers will also be provided throughout the week.  Our state of the art facilities include both synthetic and natural grass turf, air-conditioned courts for Futsol and soccer tennis, and the indoor pool at the Beckerman Athletic Center.  Each player must provide his/her own cleats, indoor training shoes, shin guards, soccer ball, water bottle, lunch, snack, swim suit, and towel.  The full day session will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The morning session will run from 9 a.m. to Noon.
  
BOYS' LACROSSE CAMP          July 13-17;   $295                             

The Boys’ Lacrosse Camp, for ages 7-14. is under the direction of Kevin Warnock, Head Mens Lacrosse Coach at Hamden Hall. Boys attending the camp will have fun learning and playing the game of lacrosse. The focus of the camp will be on general athletic skills, stick skills and offensive and defensive ball control. This camp is designed to introduce the new player to the game while complimenting existing players who want to improve their game and have fun in doing so. Goalies are welcome. CAMPERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT. 

NOR'EASTER GIRLS LACROSSE SCHOOL          July 22-24;   $350  

Entering it's fifth season at Hamden Hall, the Nor'Easter Girls Lacrosse School is under the direction of Clarissa Clarke and Laura Fields of Nor'easter Lacrosse.  Anne Murray, former standout at Princeton and now the Assistant Coach at Princeton with primary responsibility for the offense, will also return to share her expertise.  Rounding out this summer's staff is UCONN Assistant Coach Jane Karger, who will concentrate on defensive skills and goalkeeper play, and Amy Archambault, Nor'Easter Associate Director and Head Coach.  Also in attendance will be Betsey Vendel, Second Team All-Northeast Conference selection from Central Connecticut State College, and Cierra Ward, defensive standout at Central Connecticut.  Clarissa and Nor'easter pride themselves on providing a fun camp experience for all campers, regardless of age or ability.  Clarissa's and her staff's experience and infectious enthusiasm for teaching lacrosse makes this a great camp to attend.  Camp hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  (For ages 10-18) 

SLAMMA JAMMA BASKETBALL CAMP          July 27-31;   $250          
 
Slamma Jamma Basketball Camp, for girls and boys ages 7-14, will introduce the game in more detail to the less experienced player and provide advanced training to the more seasoned player. The camps will emphasize individual instruction on proper shooting technique, offensive moves, ball movement, defensive stance, and rebounding position. Individual development will then be incorporated into the concepts of team play. Players will need proper shoes.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP          August 3-7;   $295

Our Volleyball Camp, for girls ages 7-14, will be under the direction of Nally Sahin, Varsity Volleyball coach at Hamden Hall.  The camp will emphasize skill development in all aspects of the game - sets, digs, spikes, and team play!  This is a great opportunity for the experienced volleyball player, and for those athletes who are new to this fast-paced sport.  Players should come equipped with proper shoes and knee pads.  

iCLIMB BASKETBALL CAMP          July 14-18;     $250

Welcome to the new generation of basketball camp, for girls and boys ages 8-14, where we Inspire Courage to Lead, Imagine, Motivate and Believe!  This cutting edge camp will be instructed by Meghan Burke Brown, former college coach at Southern Connecticut State University, Yale University, and Eastern Kentucky University.  The iCLIMB Basketball Camp will promote a positive learning environment for players of all skill levels to reach their maximum potential.

BOYS' LACROSSE SKILLS CLINIC          August 3-7;     $225         

Throughout the regular season, the trend is to play a large number of games and, as a result, not spend enough time in meaningful practice situations.  This camp, for boys ages 7 to 14, is a great opportunity to improve those aspects of the game that go by the wayside when we are so focused on a team concept.  This is truly a time for players, and coaches alike, to zero in on their individual skills as a lacrosse player.  As part of this camp, we will have guest coaches who will specialize in speed training, strength development, shooting skills, and defensive techniques.  Our main practices will take place on the turf and grass fields located at the Beckerman Athletic Center.  This will be a non-contact clinic that will look to enhance stick skills, speed and footwork of dodges and defense, shooting power and accuracy, and face off techniques and fakes.  Players should bring their own helmets, sticks, gloves, sneakers/cleats, water bottles, lunch, swim suit, and towel.  The clinic will be divided into morning and afternoon training sessions, with a mid day break for lunch and optional free swim.  The clinic is under the direction of Kiernan Griffin, Foote School Head Coach and a member of the Eli Youth Lacrosse coaching staff.
