BAGHDADY TO SERVE AS COMMENTATOR AT THE HAMDEN HALL
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION
“GIRLS NIGHT OUT” FASHION SHOW
ON
TUESDAY,
APRIL 15TH
AT LAUREL VIEW COUNTRY CLUB.
Sonia
Baghdady joined News Channel 8 in December 2002.
She anchors Monday through Friday on "Good
Morning Connecticut" and "News Channel 8 at
Noon."
Sonia
came to WTNH from WWLP in
Springfield
,
Massachusetts
, where she anchored the weekday 5pm newscast and
reported for three years. Sonia received Associated
Press Awards for her coverage of the stabbing death of a
Springfield
teacher and for hosting a voter forum on the 2000
Presidential Debate.
Sonia
has earned an Emmy Award for "Outstanding
Achievement in Soft News Series" and an Emmy
nomination for "Outstanding Service Report."
Sonia
grew up in both
New York
and
California
, but spent many of her formative years in
Connecticut
. She is a
graduate of
Fairfield
University
. Sonia lives on the shoreline with her husband, Frank.
