A World Class Facility The new Athletic Center will be located at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex. The facility will occupy approximately 67,000 square feet and be designed to serve Hamden Hall’s athletic program needs well into the future. Upon successful completion of the campaign, construction is expected to begin by early 2008. The facility should be operational within 12 months of breaking ground. MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE A new Athletic Center will provide the opportunity to build greater unity and School spirit among students, faculty, parents, friends, and alumni. Students will benefit from our athletic programs as a result of increased team offerings and participation. Centralization of athletic activities will significantly enhance group participation by students, as well as the greater Hamden Hall community, as enthusiastic and active spectators. New students will be attracted to Hamden Hall, ensuring that we will remain competitive with area public schools and other independent schools. We will attract and retain families who value fitness and athletics as an important aspect of a complete education and we will increase the retention of Lower and Middle School students. The athletic program will fully match the quality of Hamden Hall’s outstanding curriculum—academic, social, community service, and the fine arts. This facility will allow the Lower School to have far greater flexibility in its academic and recreational scheduling, including a comprehensive Lower School after-school swimming and athletic program.
