Part-Time Teaching Position 2008-2009 School Year

Computer Programming

Hamden Hall Country Day School, an independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school in Hamden, Connecticut, is seeking a part-time instructor to teach one section of Computer Science (JAVA programming) for the ’08/’09 academic year.  

Computer Science (JAVA) is a full year course that will lay the foundation for motivated students to prepare for AP Computer Science in the following academic year. The class will meet twice a week for instruction. It is expected that the instructor be available to provide on-line help to students at other times during the week. 

Candidates must be able to communicate well with students who possess varying levels of proficiency in programming skills, as well as with parents, teachers, and administrators orally and in writing to report on the progress of the class or individual students. Candidates must also have the ability to supervise and monitor the progress of students who are working on independent projects. A BS in Computer Science is preferred.
