CAMP HORNET provides six weeks of an outstanding summer camp experience. Families have the flexibility to sign up for any combination of one to six weeks of camp between the dates of June 23rd and August 1st. With morning and afternoon sessions of camp now available, children have the opportunity to combine summer camp with many of our Sports Camps and Special Programs.

At CAMP HORNET, we adhere to the philosophy that the key to a successful camping experience starts with each child having an enthusiastic and experienced counselor. We maintain a low camper/counselor ratio, and we provide a safe environment in which fun and learning go hand in hand. Our campers range from seven to twelve years in age. As part of each day, your child will have Red Cross instructional swim lessons and a recreational swim period under the supervision of our certified lifeguard staff. Throughout the summer, we will continue with our popular special activities and theme days.

The camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch is provided as part of your camp fee and each child receives a CAMP HORNET tee shirt. The per week tuition fee is $260 ($210 for the week of June 30-July 3.). In order to provide flexibility for working parents, we also offer an extended day program with both morning (8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.) and afternoon (3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) sessions. There is an additional charge for extended day coverage. Finally, each season our summer camp is inspected and licensed by the State of Connecticut. Camp Hornet is under the direction of Hamden Hall teacher Chase DuPont.

CAMP HORNET JUNIOR
Camp Hornet Junior is designed for children ages four to six. The program centers on a balance of structured activities and free play opportunities. In the morning, the children will participate in our Red Cross swimming program. Afternoons are spent with the children enjoying arts and crafts, field games, water play, and the all time favorite – water slides! Throughout the summer, the children are given the opportunity to explore different themes.

AMAZING SEA CREATURES—
Join in the fun and help us explore the world of sea creatures. On our field trips, we will be able to touch live sea animals and explore their homes. Craft projects and stories about the sea will also help bring these amazing creatures to “life”.

CREEPY CRITTERS AND FLYING FRIENDS—
Take a walk on the wild side and help us explore the animal kingdom that is all around us. We will learn about birds, butterflies, and creepy crawlers. We will use our magnifying glasses to spy on worms and insects. On our field trips, we will visit different nature centers and we will become trained bird
watchers!

WET AND WILD—
This fun filled program will revolve around crafts, water play, and cooperative games. On our field trips, we will visit an amazing water park and we will learn about the different properties of water. Bring your bathing suit— we will get wet!!!!!

CAMP DISCOUNT: If you register two siblings or more for six weeks of camp, the first pays full price and the others pay only half price.
